Public Records Law: Information submitted using SmartGov to the City or sent to or received by City officials or employees, even by private messaging, is subject to applicable Public Records laws.  Any official records maintained by the City, including  communications received from citizens, may be a public record. The City is responsible for responding completely and accurately to any public records request for public records, including permitting and building records. If you believe that information that you have submitted is confidential under an applicable exception to the Tennessee Public Records Act, it is your responsibility to notify City officials.
